WHAT IS WORK & TRAVEL PROGRAM ?
WORK & TRAVEL is program for international cultural student exchange. This program allows to the students to spend one summer in USA. Another great opportunity and privilege, which JK is offering to our students, are the Summer Work and Travel programs. Work and Travel Programs are a unique and exciting way through which the students have the opportunity to get familiar with the American everyday life and culture, and at the same time earn a significant sum of money. Most of the offered job positions are in the field of Hospitality and Catering (waters/waitresses, bartenders, receptionists, cashiers, shop assistants…). Students can choose their job position when filling out their application forms.
The Summer Work and Travel
program provides legal working status under the J-1 visa. The duration of the employment contract is of a minimum of nine weeks to a maximum of four months. In addition, the students are allowed a one-month grace period afterwards for travel. During this “grace period”, the students are not allowed to work.
In brief, Summer Work and Travel Programs provide a quality cultural exchange experience for all who take part in them. Each participant will have the opportunity to experience the United States in a way that is both fun and educational.

- Completed CCI Application Form*
- Two CCI Reference Forms*
- CCI Medical Summary Report*
- Two passport size photographs
- Two passport copies (first page)
- Proof of Student Status (original form and translated form in English)
- Copies of previous J-1 visas (if applicable)
- Certificate for your criminal background (original form and translated form in English)
- Employment contract (if you have provided one for yourself)
EARNIGNS
The lowest garantee rate per hour in accordance to the US laws is 6.75 US$/per hour. The earnings for the students is in the range from 7.25 $ -20 $ per/hour. The lower bound can be smaller if the working position has garanteed tips.
WORKING POSITIONS
The most common positions are in tourism and catering (waiters, bartenders, cashiers, shop assistants, receptionists, drivers, housekeeping......) There is plenty fo possibilities for choosing different kinds of jobs during the process.
We are giving You variaty of possitions and we are asking You to be patient and careful in choosing the position and the job. It is better to consult with us before You do that. We have great experience and we can give You advices and tips regarding the jobs.
DURATION
The working contracts can be from 9 weeks to 4 months. The visa that supports Work and Travel program is Ł-1 with period of validity of 5 months, 4 months with work permit and 1 month without work permit in which the student can travel accross USA and learn more about the country.
DS-2019
If You are selected by the program, You will receive Certificate of Eligibility
for Exchange Visitors Status (DS-2019) on which base You will get J-1 visa, with period of validity of 5 months, 4 months with work permit and 1 month without work permit. This document the students will receive through JK, before going to the interview in the embassy.
TRAVELING
On Ypur request we could find You cheap flight in both directions from the country You are from to Your final destination; everithing that will make Your expences smaller. This ticket is the cheapest possibility, with all the student discounts and with no service charge from us.
